Successful Canadian 3* Event rider, Erin MacDonald has a passion and eye for sourcing and developing eventing prospects. She specializes in working with off-the-track Thoroughbreds, slowly and properly retraining them to excel in their careers off the racetrack.
With a desire to expand and offer her services and experience to the wider equine industry, MacDonald started Trillium Sport Horses in 2015 and, in 2022 began partnering with New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program, the oldest and largest racehorse adoption program in the United States.
Some of her career highlights include:
- Placing 8th/9th at the American Eventing Championships
- Being a team bronze medalist at the North America Junior Young Rider Championship (NAJYRC) CCIY*** and the Top Canadian, finishing 9th individually
- Being recognized as the Top Ontario Horse Trials Association (OHTA) Intermediate Young Rider
- Placing 8th in eventing at the 2020 Retired Racehorse Project (RRP) Thoroughbred Makeover
- Placing 4th at Will O Wind CIC***
MacDonald stays busy with the equine athletes she is entrusted with, often retraining up to six horses per month and rehoming one Thoroughbred per week.
